The Manchester City manager says that he didn’t expect Everton to give City a run for their money and that the Citizens had a bad night out in Merseyside....
Mancini has come out and admitted that his team did not prepare well enough for Everton who eventually took them by surprise at Goodison Park and sneaked away with a one goal win. Manchester City looked jaded on the night in Merseyside
as Everton took full advantage of their opponent’s complacent nature.
The loss for Manchester City means that they are now level on points with Manchester United at the top of the Premier League table, something that must be shocking for Mancini whose team had a five goal advantage at one point in
the season. With their latest setback, City cannot afford to slip up again as they have lost their three point cushion that they had before the game. Everton did well to contain City’s attack as their midfield made it hard for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Samir-Nasri-c32360 to
exchange passes and play at a high tempo.
Mancini said in his statement, “[It’s a] bad night for me. We didn’t deserve to lose, but I think there was some of my mistake in this game, we didn’t prepare very well for this game and we had a problem. It’s important for me
to know what this mistake is. I didn’t prepare well because I thought maybe this game was easier and you know here [Goodison Park] is never easy, never.”
The one and only goal of the match was scored by the former Manchester United midfielder http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Mancini-c23323 added, “[I thought
it would be easier] because I thought we played well against Tottenham, we won the last three games in the Premier League and I thought http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Everton-c13019 were without three or four important players.”
Manchester City’s manager will now hope that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 give Manchester United a tough time on the upcoming weekend clash between both the clubs which will allow his team more breathing space in the Premier League title race.
