Manchester City manager, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roberto-c31294 Mancini admits that he might have taken Everton too lightly and that is why his side ended up losing to them last night.
City went into their game with Everton as the league leaders, as they looked to maintain their spot at the top of the league table.
Going into the game, almost everyone believed that City would come out on top, based on the form they had shown in the league.
However, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Everton-c13019 had a respected record against the Manchester based club, which saw them lose only twice to City at Goodison Park, every since the Premier League was formed.
Mancini has now admitted that he got a little complacent with the three point lead that his team had and it was this complacency, which led to the team losing by one goal to nil last night.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Darron-Gibson-c10368, the former Manchester United player scored the only goal of the game and managed to do his former team a massive favour.
Because of the goal, City and United are now level on points in the league, with City’s goal difference keeping them ahead of their local rivals.
When talking about just what went wrong in the match, Mancini took the blame for the game and stated: "I didn't prepare well for this game. I thought it was maybe easier. I know here it is never easy, never.
"I acknowledge my mistake. It is important for me to know this because, like this, I can't do the same mistakes in the next game."
The manager then explained the situation even further and claimed that it was a lack of preparation before the game that ended up getting to the team and caused them to fall apart in the game.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Mancini-c23323 then went on to add: "The players put everything on the pitch but I made some mistakes during the last three days preparing for this game.”
It is now up to the City manager to help his team pick up the pace and get back to their winning ways, or he could see his side fall out of the title race and settle for a Champions League spot instead.
