Manchester City manager http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Carlos-c8346 Tevez and Liverpool’s Andy Carroll.
Over the last couple of days, there were rumours floating about which claimed that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 were looking to offer City Andy Carroll, in exchange for Carlos Tevez.
It was also reported that Liverpool contacted City over the possibility of the move going through, but were then shut down by the City officials.
Mancini has now revealed that he has not been informed of any such activities and feels that irrelevant of what is happening, he is still looking to offload Tevez in the near future.
When talking about these rumours, Mancini is quoted to have said: "I never heard of this”
"Carroll is a good player, he is young and strong but it would be difficult and I don't think [it is going to happen].”
"There was no phone call to me. I don't know if Brian Marwood was involved. I just read it in the newspaper. I didn't speak to Marwood about this.”
Despite having his fair share of problems with Tevez in the past, the manager is still looking to find the Argentine striker a good club and hopes for the player to salvage his career, instead of watching it fall apart.
"My opinion about Carlos is that it is important he finds a good solution because he can stay for a year without playing. It is important that he plays, he is a top player.”
With http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Mancini-c23323 clearing the air to having any knowledge of the potential swap deal, it is safe to say that if Liverpool did inquire about the deal, they were shut down by the City officials.
At the same time, it is rather remarkable for Mancini to be acting in such a professional manner towards Tevez, despite the striker claiming the manager was out to get him.
Nonetheless, based on these comments from Mancini, what can be said assuredly is that there is no chance of Andy Carroll going to City and Carlos Tevez heading to Liverpool.
