Roberto Mancini believes loss was a lesson for Manchester City
Manchester City manager, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Mancini-c23323 has not been affected by his sides loss to Chelsea in the Premier League, but instead, feels that the loss was a lesson for his side and that they must learn from it.
Prior to the game against the Blues, City had not lost a single game in the Premier League. The team had been running the show domestically and many believed that they could go on and finish the season on an unbeaten run.
However, a http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Frank-Lampard-c14097 penalty in the last ten minutes of the game put an end to that, as the team lost by two goals to one. In doing so, the team is now sitting just two points above Manchester United.
The manager has now asked his team to show just how strong they are and wants them to maintain their form, irrelevant to what happened against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786.
"At this moment, we should be very strong"
"It is at these moments that you become stronger, as players and a team. For this reason, the result is a lesson for us."
The manager didn’t have any complaints about his side conceding the penalty late on in the game, but still feels that justice should have been done, as his side could have also been awarded an early penalty.
Mancini also believes that Clichy’s sending off pretty much decided the game and that there was no coming back from that.
"If the Silva penalty had been awarded, probably the game was finished," he added.
When highlighting the red card, he went on to state:
"After the sending off it was a different match."
Despite the loss, City are still sitting in a very favourable position. The team is still more than willing of beating just about any team in the league and the manager, along with his players is more than aware of this fact.
The team is now going to take on Arsenal this coming weekend and that game is going to be a real test for both the teams, as it is going to highlight their credentials and ability to play at a very fast pace.
City have so far not played any team that possess the pace of the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 front line and hence the defenders are going to have their work cut out for them.
Nonetheless, going into the game after a loss, City are going to be looking to prove a point and could come out as easy victors in the game, should they keep their heads straight.
