Manchester City manager, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Gary-Neville-c14447.
The player, went on to produce a new act of poor behaviour and misconduct, in the community shield game against United. During the second half, Mancini went on to make a change and as a result, went on to replace Balotelli. After initially showing his dissatisfaction with the substitution, the player decided to avoid the manager and the rest of the team as he headed straight into the tunnel. However, the player did end up linking up with the team, later on.
Despite the player returning to the bench, Neville went on to comment on his actions. He claimed the player just thinks a little too much of himself and really needs to get his act together. He then ended by claiming, Balotelli should be ashamed of his ways.
Mancini on the other hand, strongly feels that the situation is being blown out of proportion, while agreeing that maybe a few tweaks could come in handy.
When talking about Balotelli and his decision to return to the bench, Mancini is quoted to have said: “None of my staff told him to come back”
“I was concentrating on the game. Every time Mario does something people read things into it.”
By claiming that no one asked Balotelli to return, the manager is implying that it was the player’s intention to rejoin the team and not a forced one, hence suggesting he might finally be starting to change.
Mancini then went on to add, as he admitted the player could play better, but he wasn’t disappointed with anyone at the half time break.
“I think he can do his http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Job-c18684 better. He can play better than he did today. But it’s important he works for the team like the other players.”
He then ended by confirming that he was more disappointed with the loss, than with anyone’s actions during the game.
“Sometimes it’s possible to play not very well. I am disappointed because we were in the dressing room after 45 minutes leading 2-0.”
City were leading the game against United by two goals to nil at the half time break. However, a spirited second half saw United come out all guns blazing and turn the game around by making it two all. In the last minute of the game, Luis http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Nani-c27299 used his pace and skill to go forth and sink in the third goal and hence claiming the Community Shield for United.
