Manchester City’s manager Roberto Mancini has come out and made it clear that his team played well against Porto to cement their place in the round of 16 in the UEFA Europa League competition following their 2-1 win over the Portuguese
giants. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Mancini-c23323 fielded a strong team against Porto with Yaya Toure returning to action for the Citizens after his international football duties with Ivory Coast.
The African midfielder maintained his team’s control over the midfield area but City did make hard work of it in the first half when Gael Clichy’s lack of concentration resulted in a goal for the home team. With the crowd on their
back, Porto were indeed the better team in the first half but that changed after the half time break. City came out with a renewed vigour in their step and soon made their opponents pay for their mistakes.
First Balotelli and co. forced an own goal from the Porto defence and then due to their persistent pressure http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roberto-c31294 Maninci’s team
now play against Porto next week at the Etihad stadium and they will look to finish the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Job-c18684 there at their home turf.
He said, "I think that we played a good game. We played very well. Also in the first half we had three or four chances to score. We were really unlucky, but in the second half we played very well. No, only to play as we know. Second
half maybe we stayed higher and played better, but we had seven or eight chances to score in this game. We didn't leave any chances to Porto. I think this is important because Porto is a top team."
The Manchester City manager however denied that he had heard the crowd sign racist slurs against both Balotelli and Yaya Toure but City have indeed informed UEFA of the racist abuse that their players had to face against Porto.
