Manchester City manager http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Mancini-c23323 believes his side deserved to beat Aston Villa in their Premier League match.
City and Villa took on each other this past Sunday, in a game that both the sides needed to win. However, following a goal from a solitary goal scored by http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Joleon-Lescott-c18941, City went on to pick up all three points from the game.
Despite City having scored only one goal in the game, Mancini believes that his side were far better in the game and the three points that they picked up are evidence to that fact.
The Italian manager admits that his side had only one real goal scoring opportunity, but went on to claim that Villa didn’t even manage to create a single goal scoring chance during the game.
A highly delighted manager, when talking about his team’s performance is quoted to have said: “It was a difficult game, but we knew it would be before the game. We were unlucky but in the end we deserved to win. We deserved to score maybe three or four goals.
"They had only one chance, they didn't have any for 90 minutes. I think we had 10. But it would have been better to score two goals to take all the risk away before the end.
"It is important that we win away like we were doing at the start of the season. We had 70 per cent of the possession, but Aston Villa are a strong team and they defend very well.”
Nonetheless, the manager admitted that he had to thank http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Joe-Hart-c18699 for helping the team pick up all three points in the game.
During the last few minutes of the game a ball fell to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Darren-Bent-c10358 out of nowhere and the Villa striker volleyed an effort towards the goal. Despite the shot being taken from point blank range, Hart managed to keep the ball out and prevent his side from
conceding a goal in the game.
Having picking up the win, City are now back on top of the Premier League table, with two points separating them and Manchester United.
