Manchester City went on to continue their highly impressive pre-season tour, as the team beat Vancouver by a score line of two goals to one. Despite that win helping City maintain their flawless start to the season, it also saw their star midfielder, Yaya
Toure limp off in pain, after suffering an ankle injury during the proceedings of the game.
Toure went up in the air to contest for a ball during the match, however, his fall back down to the ground wasn’t a desirable one. The midfielder fell awkwardly and landed on his ankle, which saw him clutch his leg as the medical staff ran to assist him.
The player then went on to receive a lengthy treatment and was later helped as he hopped off the pitch.
Despite it seeming like the midfielder might have seriously injured himself during the friendly, City manager is amongst the few who believe that this set-back won’t affect the team or the player for a long spell.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Mancini-c23323 when addressing the issue is quoted to have said: "We will have to see but I hope he will have recovered in three or four days"
"He fell over the other player's foot and hurt his ankle, but hopefully he will be okay."
Toure’s return to fitness is crucial for City, as the midfielder is one of the more important players at the club. He is quite possibly one of the most physically dominant players, in the world and when he runs the show for City, there is very little that
his opponents can do to stop him.
At the moment, based on Mancini’s comments, it seems like Toure will be up and running in no time, which would see him return to full fitness, just in time for the start of the new Premier League season.
Another City midfielder, who seems to be delighted with the pre-season tour, is http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Gareth-Barry-c14423. The English international has gone on to hail his sides performances and has even gone on to make a special mention for John Guidetti, who scored the equalizing
goal against Vancouver.
Barry is quoted to have said:"John is young"
"He is a good player and I think he can have a good future at Manchester City. He is strong. He is a typical English striker, even though he is Swedish. He has a good technique. He wants to improve.”
From the looks of things, City are going to be a commendable force in the Premier League and possibly even the Champions League, this coming season.
