http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Mancini-c23323 is hoping to get rid of Wayne Bridge in January
Manchester City manager, Roberto Mancini has admitted that he is amazed by the fact that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Wayne-Bridge-c36733 decided to stay at the Eastlands in the summers, but is hopeful that he will get rid of the player in January.
Bridge spent the second half of last season on loan at West Ham United, but returned to team following the club’s relegation.
It was initially believed that Bridge would walk out of the team in the January transfer window, but the defender decided to stick around at the club instead.
Bridge’s actions have left a number of people confused, including City manager, Mancini himself.
Mancini, when talking about Bridge and his decision is quoted to have said: "I don't understand why there are some players that have a chance to go and play, maybe not in the Premier League but in the Championship, and don't"
"I don't know why you would want to stay at a club where you can't play.
"When we are young and start to play football we don't play for money, we play because we like football. Every player should have this target in mind - to play football.”
The manager then admitted that there were decent offers for the player in the summers, but he refused to look up on them. Mancini also revealed that the defender trains with the team sometimes, but that really isn’t enough for him to stick around at the
club.
"Wayne is a good guy, but he had two or three chances in the summer, including Celtic, who are an important team.”
"He trains with us sometimes and sometimes with the young players but I hope, for him, he leaves in January because it's difficult for a player to stay training every day."
It is more than likely that Bridge is only at City to make as much money as he can, without really having to play a real game of football.
Some might find this to be appalling, while others mind consider the player lucky to have found the easy way out.
Either way, the defender seems destined to be on his way out of the club in another month or so.
