Roberto Mancini not happy with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Mario-Balotelli-c23937’s performance against Fulham
Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini has expressed his disappointment over Mario Balotelli’s lack of work rate in their recent draw against Fulham.
Even though the Italian striker was the only Manchester City player to find the net against Fulham but his performance started to fade away as the match wore on.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Mancini-c23323 singled out Mario Balotelli for the Fulham stalemate as he thinks that the Italian was not at his best for the full ninety minutes.
He said, “I am not happy with Mario. I know him very well and I know he can play better. He can play for the team. He scored a fantastic goal but there were still 70 minutes left. He can't lose the ball all the time. Every time the ball went to the front,
we didn't keep it.”
Roberto Mancini played all three of his super strikers for the first time, however, the three-man strike force experiment failed to bring any fruitful results. Balotelli, who returned from an injury after being out for more than a month, scored the only
goal for the Citizens in the 26th minute.
After witnessing the failure of his three-man strike force, Mancini was forced to substitute Edin Dzeko with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Patrick-Vieira-c29316 to shore up the midfield.
However, Damien Duff scored an equaliser in the 56th minute to level the score at the City of Manchester Stadium. The visitors started to dominate the game but failed to find a breakthrough and the match ended up as a 1-1 draw.
City’s title hopes were completely ended after the Fulham stalemate at home soil. However, along with the likes of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Vincent-Kompany-c36184, the Citizens were without the services of 12 senior players, who were out of action due to injuries.
Roberto Mancini was not in the best of his moods after watching his team fail to get all three points against a side which they had defeated earlier in the 2010-11 season 4-1.
On the other hand, Fulham manager Mark Hughes went on to accuse the Italian manager to lack sportsmanship as he claimed Mancini was not even looking at him while offering the post-match handshake.
Hughes said, “I am old fashioned. I always think you should offer your hand in whatever circumstances, no matter how difficult it is. I did it, and did it with sincerity after my team had been beaten 4-1 at Craven Cottage earlier this season. I acknowledged
his team were better.”
