http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Mancini-c23323 not impressed with Manchester City’s squad depth – Premier League Update
Manchester City went on to draw their last Premier League game against Fulham and in doing so, the team went on to drop their first points in the Premier League.
City took to the game in their normal fashion, with the team going all out and taking the game to their opponents. Soon after, City found themselves two goals to the good, with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Sergio-c33030 Aguero bagging both the goals for the team. However, in the second half,
Fulham went on to turn the game around and following goals from Bobby http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Danny-c10193 Murphy, the home side shocked the Citizens, who just couldn’t produce a third goal and hence saw the game out level on goals with their opponents.
With City’s flawless run to the Premier League finally coming to an end, Manchester United went on and capitalized on the situation as they beat http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 the same day and took a two point lead over their arch rivals.
Following the game, a disappointed Roberto Mancini has gone on to label the lack of depth that his squad possesses to be the prime reason behind his sides draw.
The manager feels that with some of the team’s midfielders having picked up injuries during the game, it was his inability utilize anyone else in those positions to get the best possible result for his team.
"We are lacking at this moment because we lost two midfielders,” the City boss told reporters. “I don't have players at the moment. I can only change the full-backs.”
"I have only two midfielders, because James [Milner] and [Nigel] De Jong have injuries."
Despite his side losing the game, the manager seems to be impressed with the way his side took to the game and feels that he has nothing to complain about. Mancini admitted that his side had the better possession and the way that they played the game was simply
flawless. Nonetheless, he feels that when his side misses clear cut chances, that ultimately goes on to affect the team.
He added: "What team comes here against Fulham in London and has over 70% of ball possession?
"We had the same problem against Wigan at home. We had 15 chances in the first half and we scored only one goal.
"It doesn't always go well if you don't score, if you don't close the game."
With Mancini and City looking to go all out in their next outing, the team is more than likely to make up for this draw with a rather outstanding victory, since nothing else would do justice to the team.
