Manchester City are set to take on Queens Park Rangers on the last day of the Premier League season as the title race draws to a close. Manchester City are currently on the verge of capturing their first Premier League title in over 34 years, a feat that
will be a great achievement for Mancini and co. but Rangers stand in their way for the moment.
Queens Park Rangers can possibly upset the title race as Manchester United are counting on them to get a draw at least at the Etihad stadium as they are currently level on points with City. If both the Manchester clubs win on the weekend, then City will
go on to capture the trophy as they are ahead on goal difference and thus leading the league table.
Mancini has been careful in the past weeks in saying that City are favourites to win the lead but after their win against Newcastle United last weekend, things have changed as Manchester City are now sure shot favourites. Mancini said, “We have two fingers
on the trophy, but it is not enough, because we still have one more game and it is a difficult one. My feeling is good after the Newcastle result and so is the feeling of the players. But we need to play the QPR game in the right mood.”
Manchester City’s manager also added, “We have managed to keep the players’ feet on the ground. We did it before we played United. Then we did it last week before we played Newcastle. We won’t change anything. If we don’t keep our concentration and prepare
well for the game it will end up being very difficult. We don’t have pressure. Leading up to the Newcastle game maybe we had some, but not now. We just need to play one game and we just need to play as we did [last] Sunday.”
