Roberto Mancini takes blame for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Carlos-c8346 Tevez returning to Manchester City later than initially anticipated
Manchester City manager, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roberto-c31294 Mancini has gone on to take the blame for star striker Carlos Tevez returning to the team much later than initially anticipated.
Tevez was reported to be back in the club this past week, however, following his participation in the Copa http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/America-c38390, it seems like the player won’t be coming back till this Monday.
Due to this delay in his return, the striker won’t be participating in City’s upcoming Community Shield game, which would see the team take on arch rivals, Manchester United.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Mancini-c23323, when talking about Tevez, started off by joking that the striker’s phone was finally working again. "I have spoken to him, his phone is working again"
He then went on to talk about how Tevez was happy and full fit and that he would be back on Monday."
"He was happy and told me he would come back on Monday - everything was normal.”
The manager then admitted to the mix-up that took place, when deciding the return date for the player.
"He was on holiday, there was a mistake. We said he needed to come back on August 5 with Zaba [http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Pablo-Zabaleta-c29022] but it was my mistake because I told him come back on August 8.”
He then went on to confirm that Tevez had a twenty one day break, following his participation in the Copa America.
"Carlos comes back on Monday because he has 21 days after the Copa America."
Tevez has been on the brink of walking away from Manchester City, for nearly three months now. The forward came close to joining Brazilian side http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Corinthians-c38855, but with both teams failing to reach an agreement, he ended up sticking around for a little longer.
At the moment, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Inter-c39567 Milan are the favourites to land the player before the season starts, but the way things are progressing, it seems highly unlikely that the Italians will be able to land the player.
On the other hand, City might just be able to get http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Sergio-c33030 Aguero and Carlos Tevez to play together for the team, which would mean that they are going to possess two of the best strikers in the world, in one team at the same time.
This coming season, City might just be able to go all the way and win a trophy or two. The team has more than just a decent squad and irrelevant of whether Tevez stays or not, they are going to be gunning for silverware this coming season.
