Roberto Mancini to pursue trio
Manchester City’s manager, Roberto Mancini who has already gone on to lure some of the best players in the world to the Eastlands, has gone on to draw up a new wish list of players that he wants to bring to Manchester City as early as this January.
The manager might have failed in the past to sign players like, Fernando Torres and John Terry, however he feels that this will never happen again considering how City are performing in the league and in their Cup competitions.
The manager has now gone on to change his approach and is looking to pursue some different players this time around, who could fit into the current City side and make them perform even better then they are performing at the moment. The players that the manager
has gone on to target are Gareth Bale, Andy Caroll and Ashley Cole.
Gareth Bale who plays for Tottenham, emerged to be one of the best young players in the country. The player operates down the left and can play in almost any position on that side, ranging from left back to left forward. His versatility and work rate is
something that Mancini feels would be a great addition, to the City side.
Andy Caroll, has managed to go from being a upcoming English youngster to being one of the most talked about players in the world. He even managed to score a hat trick in the Premier League this season. which has only added to his super star status. The
player is currently not being offered or promised first team action at Newcastle, which might be the ultimate reason for the player to leave the team, if he does manage to leave the team that is.
The last player on the list of potential buys is Ashley Cole. Cole has been the best left back in the Premier League’s recent history and hence it is no surprise that the player is amongst the players who are wanted at the Eastlands.
Manchester City now need to get their thinking hat’s on and think about if they really want to add another three world class players to their ranks. They already have more than enough players to choose from at the club. If they go on to spend another hundred
million pounds or so to bring in more players to the club, it would just be them flaunting the fact that they can buy the best players in the world and then let them rot on the bench.
None the less City need to realize that doing that will never really win them titles. Since players who have been brought in and then left out to dry, aren’t the sort of players who would ever actually give whole hearted performances and hence would not
help the team really achieve anything.
What City should really focus on is, to try and develop the players that they currently have at the club, rather than buying players just for the sake of buying players. City are currently in the second spot in the Premier League, which is by no means a
bad position to be in, if they continue to perform this way they might just go on to have their best finish to a season in the Premier League.
