Manchester City boss, Roberto Mancini, has urged the Juventus captain and striker, Alessandro Del Piero, to continue playing after he exits Juventus.
Mancini, addressing Del Piero, said that life does not end with Juventus and he should see more and bigger opportunities awaiting him outside.
The City tactician was recently talking to Corriere dello Sport where he gave his suggestion to the striker.
“Alex is 37 and he can still enjoy himself in the game. He needs to go and look for a different championship, maybe even the Premier League, but there are others. Life doesn’t end with Juventus.” Mancini said.
Alessandro Del Piero is playing his last season as a Juventino as his contract expires in June 2012. Moreover, the club President doesn’t look inclined to offer an extension to the striker and it is expected that Del Piero will be considering his options
for the next term.
Del Piero recently announced that he will continue to play until he is 40 years old. Shortly after the striker revealed his future plans, Juve President, Andrea Agnelli, claimed that there will always be room for the Bianconeri captain and he can ask anytime.
The striker, now 37, has received offers from a number of European and MLS clubs, which are keen on acquiring the services of the legendary Juventus captain.
Swiss outfit Sion are the first buyers to emerge on the scene and the club president, Christian Constantin, has personally shown great interest in Del Piero’s talent. Sion’s president said that they will be honoured to have the legendary hitman play for
their side.
Moreover, reports from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Italy-c2926 suggest that the attacker might be going back to Padova, where he started his career. However, with the side featuring in the 2nd division, Serie B, chances are thin.
Some sources have also claimed that the former Italian international might join a Japanese team. However, only one thing is for sure: the future remains uncertain for the legend.
