Manchester City manager http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Mancini-c23323 has admitted that he wants his team to play with an Italian mentality and refuse to give up in any and all circumstances.
City have had their fair share of problems in away games, over the course of the last couple of weeks. The team has managed to win only two of their last seven away games, while failing to enforce the free flowing football that they play at the Etihad Stadium.
Roberto Mancini feels that a number of teams have finally realised just how the club play and that he might have to switch things up in the near future.
As a result, the manager has admitted that he would like his side to play with an Italian mentality. The manager feels that Italian sides almost always manage to secure a draw if they don’t win and should City start doing the same, they could easily win
the Premier League trophy.
The manager is quoted to have said: "When we go away from home now, the teams we play keep all their players behind the ball and so it is difficult.”
"At the start of the season, it was different. Teams gave us more space and we took advantage.”
"In the last two months, our opponents have approached games differently. That is normal because of the results we were getting. We have lost three games away from home – and we didn’t deserve to lose any of them.”
Mancini added that his side need to pay more attention away from home and should they do that, they could easily go on and lift the Premier League crown.
“We need to show more attention when we play away from home.”
Following City’s comments, City went on to win against Aston Villa by a score line of one goal to nil. After picking up the goal, City failed to extend their lead in the game. However, at the same time, they didn’t allow their opponents to get their name
on the score sheet either.
All in all, it seems like Mancini’s tactics are finally sitting in with the team, as they look to lift the Premier League trophy at the end of the season.
