Manchester City manager http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roberto-c31294 Mancini has admitted that he would like to win the Europa League and is planning on showing his intent, but helping his side beating Porto.
City are set to take on Porto in the second leg of their Europa League fixture at the Etihad. The Manchester based team went on to beat their Portuguese opponents by two goals to one in the first leg and now possess a favourable advantage going into their
game, which is set to take place later on tonight.
Despite the one goal lead that City possess, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Mancini-c23323 is not going to be taking any chances in the upcoming fixture, as he looks to kill the tie and ensure his sides progress to the next round.
The City boss claimed that he wanted his team to have a good first round game, in order for the team’s morale and spirit to develop, as they look to go into the finals of the Europa League in May.
Mancini, when talking about the Europa League and just how important every game was going to be, is quoted to have said: “For us, every game is serious and we want to win every match”
“If we win the Europa League it would be an important moment for the club - I don't think it will be easy but we will try.”
He then went on to admit that it was a whole lot safer to start with a one goal lead, but despite that, he wants his team to feel that it is still nil all in the tie and everything is up for grabs.
“Every game is dangerous for different reasons, but it is better start with a 2-1 lead, but I think it's important to think that it is 0-0 start.”
“I was very pleased with the win in Porto and think we played really well in both halves, particularly in the second half when we defended well and created a lot of chances.”
Should Mancini be able to maintain his teams form and performance levels from the first leg, his side could easily stroll past Porto, as they look to edge closer to the Europa League trophy.
