Manchester City took on LA Galaxy in a friendly last night. The game saw Mario Balotelli step up and help his side take the lead in the game via a penalty. However, minutes later when the forward was clean on goal, he went on try a ridiculous back heel,
which saw him miss an open goal.
As a result of the player’s little show boat, Roberto Mancini went on to immediately signal http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/James-Milner-c17706 to kit up and replaced Balotelli, after only thirty minutes of play.
Many believed that Mancini was going to go ahead and punish Balotelli even further, but that doesn’t seem to be the case, as the manager feels that taking Balotelli off, was enough punishment for the player.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Mancini-c23323 when talking about Balotelli and the level of seriousness that players need to maintain, is quoted to have said: "I didn’t speak to him. But I think that we need to be always professional, always serious, and for me in that case Mario wasn’t professional.
And for this I changed him.

"In football we should be serious, always. And if you have a chance to score, you should score. Only this, for me, it’s finished now. And I hope for him it is an important lesson."

The manager then went on to admit that the forwards childish tendencies, get the better of him and that despite being a good player, he needs to still improve tremendously over the course of the coming few seasons.
Mancini then went on to add: "Sometimes he needs to control his emotions, yes"
"Mario is good player, but he's young and needs to improve as a player and as a man sometimes."
He then concluded by stating that there wouldn’t be any further actions that would be taken, to make the player realize his mistake.
Mancini ended by stating: "No, no. To take him off the pitch after 30 minutes is [enough] punishment for him."
It is rather brilliant to watch Balotelli make a fool of himself, week in and week out. The forward has ample talent, but for some odd reason, his arrogance and ego get the better of him, time and time again.
Mancini seems to have realised this and has finally started to give a zero percent tolerance to the players antics. This new policy taken up by the manager is bound to not only help the forward, but is also going to help the team get the best out of him,
over the course of the coming years.
