http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roberto-c31294 Martinez disappointed with Roberto Mancini’s actions
Wigan Athletic manager, Roberto http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Mancini-c23323’s actions during the teams Premier League match last night.
Roberto Mancini was spotted waving imaginary cards in the air, after http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Maynor-Figueroa-c25071 went on to prevent City from scoring a goal in the game last night.
However, despite the manager’s frustration being justified, the way he reacted to it is something that seems to have ticked Martinez off.
The Wigan Athletic manager has gone on to tell the City manager that the conduct, which he showed in the game is unacceptable and that influencing the referee isn’t something that is allowed anywhere.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Figueroa-c13730 went on to use his hand to stop City from breaking on the Wigan goal and potentially scoring a goal. However, despite his actions, the referee went on to award the Wigan player with only a yellow card. However, based on Mancini’s actions, it seems
like the City manager wanted the player to see red.
When talking about the incident, a very furious Martinez was quoted to have said: "I have been here long enough to know that trying to influence the referee is not acceptable in this country"
The manager then went on to admit that his actions could even be considered as cheating
"I’ve been here since 1995 so I know that’s seen as cheating."
Martinez then defended his team and the referee’s decision, as he believes it wasn’t a clear goal scoring opportunity, given the fact that the player handled the ball near the half way line.
He then went on to add: "I don’t think it’s a goal scoring opportunity. He handles in the opposite half and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/James-McCarthy-c17702 was coming back, so I don’t think it’s a red card."
The match eventually ended with both the tams having all eleven players on the pitch and with City picking up all three points thanks to an Edin Dzeko goal.
Despite that fact, it seems like this game is now going to go into extra time, as both sets of managers have a go at each other.
Martinez has already gone on to speak his mind, but Mancini is more than likely to be made aware of the manager’s actions and the Italian is going to respond to it in his own way.
Nonetheless, irrelevant of what happens, waving at the referee to send someone off is something that is almost always looked upon. As a result, it isn’t hard to see where Martinez is coming from, when he makes this claims about Mancini and his actions in
the game.
