The Bayer Leverkusen manager is disappointed after his team’s home loss to Borussia Monchengladbach this past weekend.
Bayer Leverkusen manager Robin Dutt has conceded chances of qualifying for the UEFA Champions League after the home loss to Lucien Favre’s side on Saturday, March 17, at the BayArena. He admitted that home games are crucial and
the dropped points will certainly make it more difficult for his side to finish in the top four.
Werkself currently sit in fifth place with 40 points from the 26 games played thus far and are a staggering 10 points behind fourth place Schalke. The team has underperformed this season after an impressive second place finish
last term.
Dutt claimed that his side conceded an early goal which definitely put a lot of pressure in the remaining course of the game. He added that the opposition took advantage from the mistakes of the home side and were rewarded when

The manager admitted that the team responded well after that and played well throughout the first period. He added that the equaliser from Stefan Kiessling was also the result of some good passage of play from the team but expressed
his disappointment on conceding the late goal.
“We gifted them the opener that was a real blow. After that though, the team responded very well and the equaliser was the reward for our pressure. But then the team got a bit carried away going after a second goal. We've lost
two games in a row now, which obviously makes it more difficult to earn a Champions League place,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.
On the other hand, Borussia Monchengladbach manager Lucien Favre expressed his pleasure on the vital victory and stressed that his side deserved to win the game. He admitted that it was a tough test for his side as Bayer Leverkusen
had been in great form prior to the game.
“We thoroughly deserved to win that one, we had a lot more chances than our opponents. But it was an enormously difficult game,” he concluded.
Bayer Leverkusen will next take on Schalke at the Veltins-Arena on Saturday, March 24.
