Following his excellent performance during the recent http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mahbubul-Alam-c73802 Petersen, has aimed to make a comeback into the national Test squad.
Peterson, who has served Proteas in the six Test matches, played his last 5-day game against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Bangladesh-c747 in 2008. The 32-year-old spinner, who remained in and out of the side since his International debut in 2002, thrilled cricketing circles across the world
with his excellent performance in the mega event, grabbing 15 scalps at a superb strike rate of 22.40.
He has been enjoying good rhythm and form these days and feels that he still has the spark and energy to do well in the longest version of the game.
“Obviously I want to play Test cricket. The ultimate is to play Test cricket for http://www.senore.com/Cricket/South-Africa-c757. I have set myself certain goals this year and I know what I need to do and where I need to go. I’ve worked hard this winter and if I can achieve my goals I could
be really close (for selection to the test team),” said Petersen who has 14 Test wickets to his credit.

The Port Elizabeth-born cricketer is confident to make a difference with bat and ball. Petersen, who holds a batting average of 35.50 in Tests, believes that his inclusion in the Test arena will help the side strengthen both batting and bowling departments.
“I’m not going to change the way I bowl but my batting is something where I can contribute a little bit more and it can give me an edge when it comes to Test cricket,” shared the left-handed all-rounder who is optimistic to do something special in the domestic
competitions and push the national selectors to consider him for the Test obligations.
