Indian batsman, Robin Uthappa, has applauded India’s batting maestro, Rahul Dravid, terming him as a motivating personality for the youngsters.
The 26-year-old said that it has always been great, following in Dravid’s footprints, as the the legendary batsman is an asset for the country.
Furthermore, Uthappa, who has played in 38 ODIs, and 10 Twenty20s for his national side, revealed that he developed his batting technique courtesy of Dravid’s useful tips.
“He’s been a huge source of inspiration. He is like the typical role model any kid would want to have. Growing up we all had him,” the Karnataka-born said while talking to the media.

He has never been consistent with his batting performance, due to which he has struggled in impressing the national selectors.

On the other hand, Uthappa showed massive excitement over representing India after a long time, and expressed the desire to play ODI and Test cricket for the country.
“It’s always been a dream to play one-day cricket again, open the batting again for India. I would love to play Test cricket,” he added in same interview.
According to him, he can perform consistently for the Men in Blue in every format of the game, as he has always been performing well in the domestic ranks of the country.
