Arsenal forward http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Robin-van-Persie-c31380 has completely denied giving an interview to Spanish media giants Marca, regarding his link with Real Madrid.
The talismanic forward spoke about great exaggeration being done about his future and a possible link with nine-time European Champions, Real Madrid.
According to reports, Madrid are greatly interested in acquiring the services of the Dutch striker and are ready to lure him to the Bernabeu.
Van Persie’s current contract with Arsenal will come to an end as the current season reaches its conclusion. The North London club are desperate to keep the player at the Emirates as he is one of their best performers this season.
The Dutchman has been in scintillating form this season, scoring a whopping 28 goals for Arsene Wenger’s men, thus reaching his career-best statistics this season.
The Dutch star has immense influence on the Arsenal squad and his presence on the field is massive. He has been helping Arsenal sneak out of difficult situations more than once and most of his goals were very crucial for the English Premier League
club.
Consequently, the player has managed to attract a great amount of attention from several clubs across Europe. Manchester City, Real Madrid and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604 were all believed to be adding the Dutch striker to their ranks.
Recently, there were several reports that suggested that Van Persie was on his way to the Santiago Bernabeu as the player himself was very excited about the prospect of playing at Real Madrid. Such reports were generated by Spanish media network, Marca.
Marca reported that the player gave an interview to them via telephone, in which he demonstrated interest in joining Madrid.
However, Van Persie has refuted all such rumours and has claimed that he never gave an interview to Marca.
While talking to Spanish daily, the Dutchman quoted:
"I am pleased to hear about the interest from such an important club as Real Madrid. Of course I would like to play there ... [But] I don't think Arsenal will agree to negotiate. However, contrary to reports in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Spain-c3011 I have NEVER spoken to Marca newspaper
and never gave any interview. Enjoy your day."
Van Persie’s future is still quite blur as the Dutchman is still helping Arsenal qualify for the UEFA Champions League next season.
