Robin Van Persie and top 12 strikers in football at the moment
Robin Van Persie, top 12 strikers at the moment (Part 1)
If there were 12 strikers in the world that were to be regarded as the “best” at the moment, there is definitely going to be a long list. However, bettor.com has decided to cut the list down short to the 12 best strikers in the game. The list contains the names of the players who are currently performing at their level best for their clubs and also for their country.
Following are the best 12 strikers at the moment:
12. Robin Van Persie:
The Dutch player has definitely shown inconsistency when it comes down to playing all the matches in the league. While Arsenal were struggling in the league and were trying to show the world that the young Gunners can actually win it for themselves, Van Persie was left in the stands to watch the match with his injury coming in his way again.
The former Feyenoord player was taken in by Arsene Wenger back in 2004 as the youngster was seen shining in the Dutch League. After coming to Arsenal, Van Persie was seen making delightful runs into the 18 yard box as he was deployed as a “sole” striker of the club. Later on he showed the world what he was worth it and he managed to score in the FA Cup Community shield. The match was against the rival club Manchester United and he helped the team by winning the game 3-1 and scoring the second goal of the match.
Robin Van Persie, even though he has been inconsistent due to his injuries, but whenever he is a part of his club with full fitness, he is a player to look out for. Recently he managed to pull of some wonderful assists as he used to fall back to help the wingers with some through balls and that is what he just did in a match against Blackburn Rovers as he helped Theo Walcott with an amazing through ball in the 18 yard box and it was the English winger who managed to leap forward and score goal with a fabulous finish right in the bottom corner of the goal.
The reason why Robin van Persie is not anywhere above in the list is only because of the fact that he is inconsistent and he did not manage to perform well for his country, Netherlands. He was deployed a sole striker in the Dutch team and he only managed to find the net once throughout the FIFA World Cup 2010. During the tournament people thought that he was going to perform wonders as he started to show his “full form” with Arsenal right when he came back from his injury. However, it was Van Persie who was later substituted by Huntelaar, when the team was seen suffering during the tournament.
In the final match of the FIFA World Cup 2010, Robin Van Persie was seen struggling with the Spanish defence right on top of him. He was being man marked and he did not even manage to create a single sparkling moment throughout the final match that was played against Spain.
Robin Van Persie, even though he is a quality player and a very good set piece taker, he still doesn’t find the net very often. However, his presence in the team is well felt as he is pretty much a difference maker in the English club, Arsenal. Many people regard Arsenal as a single man team as the captain Cesc Fabregas takes control of the midfield, but without a doubt, Robin Van Persie is the main factor why players like Fabregas, Nasri and Arshavin come forward to score goals. He has amazing finishing ability, but he is simply unlucky as he is out numbered in the 18 yard box with him being the only person up front.
Robin Van Persie is the number 12 “best striker” at the moment!
