Robin Van Persie casts shadow over Arsenal future as he refuses to rule out move to Manchester City
Arsenal striker http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Robin-van-Persie-c31380 has gone ahead and placed his future at the Emirates in doubt, as the player has refused to rule out the potential of leaving the team once his contract comes to an end.
This past summer Arsenal saw both Cesc Fabregas and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Samir-Nasri-c32360 leave the Emirates and since then the team has found it quite hard to adjust to life in the league.
So far http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 have lost four of their opening seven games in the league and this has been a massive blow to their campaign.
At the same time, many players are now reported to be nearing the end of their contract at the club and one of these players is club captain, Robin Van Persie.
When talking about his future, the Dutch international went ahead and made some rather dubious comments, as he is quoted to have said: “I do not know what I will do - I cannot predict the future”
“Everybody makes his own history and only afterwards can you see how that went.”
The player was then asked about the possibility of him joining City and he went on to respond by claiming a lot has changed over the last couple of years and so he isn’t very sure over what is going ot be happening.
“I do not know,” he said, “for one thing, as an indication, when I came to Arsenal we immediately beat City. But in recent years much has happened in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749.”
The striker then ended by admitting that the Premier League was the best league in the world and that he was going to be sticking around, irrelevant of what happened in the future.
“Nevertheless, I think the Premiership is still the best league in the world, it gives me everything I want.”
These comments from Van Persie have come at a very awkward time, considering the fact that just a day or two ago City were reported to be looking to make Arsenal an offer for their striker. The club has grown fed-up with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Carlos-c8346 Tevez and were contemplating
on letting him leave the team for Arsenal, as long as they could land Van Persie in return.
Many experts blasted these claims made by the media, but on a closer inspection, it was revealed that this offer was potentially what’s best for both the teams.
Not only would Arsenal get a player who doesn’t have a lot of injury concerns, but they would get rid of an aging player, who is nearing the end of his career as the days go by.
