http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 captain and Dutch international, Robin Van Persie has gone on to reveal his disappointment with the start to the Gunners current Premier League season.
The club went on to raise their ticket prices in the summers, but since then the club has failed to deliver. As a result, Van Persie has now gone onto ask the players at the club to prove their worth and show everyone just what they are capable of doing
on the pitch.
When talking about what he expects from the team and how Arsenal should look at the remainder of the season, Van Persie is quoted to have said:"There is lots of time [left this season], but at some point you need to pick yourself up and prove what you are
capable of"
The striker then admitted that the team’s inability to be consistent with their performances was one of the reasons for the poor display that they were producing and this performance has now started to frustrate the Gunner.
"We are not doing that at the moment and are not consistent enough.
"It just frustrates me, and it is happening too often. Every time we start positively we just keep making the same mistakes and that is surprising.
Arsenal have so far gone on to draw a game with Newcastle United, lose to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Rovers-c40385, while picking up a solitary win over Swansea City.
As a result, Van Persie and a number of other players at the club seem to have finally had enough with the way the team has been progressing. The player is now demanding the team to get back on track and is set to do the same himself.
"It's very important [to get back on track]" continued the Dutchman
"We just need a couple of good weeks in the Premier League where we get a lot of points, and hopefully we can start next week against Bolton."
Arsenal can no longer blame anyone but themselves for the poor performances that the team has been producing. There might have been some unfair decisions taken against the team, but that doesn’t mean that the squad just gives up and stops trying.
Wenger, along with the rest of the squad really need to step their game up and prove their worth, otherwise the Gunners could potentially end their current Premier League season as one of the worst in the clubs recent history. At the same time, it seems
highly unlikely for the team to pick up any silverware this season, once again.
