Arsenal striker and Dutch goal scoring machine, Robin Van Persie has gone on to admit that he wasn’t very happy with his performance against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Everton-c13019 and feels that he could have done much better.
The striker then admitted that he took a gamble while smashing the ball into the back of the net and wasn’t sure with what was going to happen.
Having won their game over Everton, Arsenal have gone on to win seven of their last eight game and are looking to really push their season forward. Van Persie’s brilliant goal in the game was his nineteenth of the season and was vital in helping the team
creep up the table.
Van Persie, who seems to still be sulking over the game, despite the win is quoted to have said:
"It wasn't a great game in my opinion, especially from myself as too often I had touches which did not go the way I wanted"
"I'm not really happy with that, with my own performance, but pleased with the win."
The striker then went on to talk about his goal, as he thanked Song for the pass and went on to highlight his vision.
"It was a great pass again from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alex-Song-c4804, unbelievable. He is a defensive midfielder, but the amount of skill he has is just a dream. A great pass from him.”
The striker finally ended by admitting his gamble is taking the shot, as he ended by adding: "Normally I would have touched [the ball] to get it right. It was a bit of a gamble, but in the end a very nice goal inside the post. I can't wish for more."
Nonetheless, the goal, despite being something of a gamble, turned out to be brilliant for Arsenal. It has helped the team maintain their form and as a result, the team’s confidence is now at an all time high.
The Gunners have also managed to compensate for their defensive injuries so far this season and it seems like the team is finally reaching the level that Arsene Wenger would have hoped for it to be at.
