Robin Ventura explains about putting Chris Sale on Disabled List – MLB News
Recently, the Chicago White Sox management is under slight criticism over some of their rushed decisions in the larger extent of the franchise’s benefit.
Earlier, putting Chris Sale on disabled list (DL) and later calling him into the bullpen was also that kind of decision on which the White Sox management is now explaining.
In a recent game, Sale suffered a minor elbow injury which later was not serious enough to put him on DL.
However, he is now called into bullpen, but he will be playing as closer. This was confirmed by the White Sox new manager Robin Ventura.
Ventura said, "There were a lot of people discussing it, so it's not like we were winging it. There was all this discussion, and I'm sure it's probably still out there as far as discussing it to see if it would be the best way to do it. The biggest issue is
we're trying to think of him first instead of us."
Sale on the other hand, has also stated in the media that he knows the proximity of wins at the moment. He further added that he is feeling okay and practising hard with his trainers and what the team is doing for him is also understandable as they all wanted
my future to be secure and most importantly injury free.
Sale said, "I've been throwing like this for a while, I pitched like that in college. I pitched like that the last two years here. I'm still pitching like that. I don't think it's anything with mechanics."
Chris Sale is a good player and has been a part of the White Sox since 2010. His current performance in the ongoing Major League Baseball season is also impressive with an ERA of 2.81 along with 29 strike-outs and 1.00 WHIP while overall his ERA stands consistent
at 2.64 along with 12 saves, 140 strike-outs and 1.08 WHIP.
Looking at his current and overall stats, the experts have always rated him among the very best talents which Chicago White Sox have produced over past many years.
In the meanwhile, this is a healthy sign for the White Sox as one of their key players is now feeling well and will be available in next crucial games.
