Robin eggs?

in my backyard there are robin eggs..or i think there are. every description of what i researched fits...the cupped nest made out of dried grass...blue colored eggs...on housing woods...but just one little thing isnt correct...the eggs in my backyard has few black tiny dots on them...and the information i read from says 'spotless blue eggs'...? what is true? are there exceptions?

  1. You are most definitely looking at robin eggs.  The color of the egg can varied due to the birds diet. This doesn't happen all the time, but it can happen.  If everything else fits, then its robin eggs.


  2. could be because not all species have spotless eggs there are many species of robin,

  4. An American robins nest is usually twigs, small branches, grass and mud.  Their eggs are blue, no spots.  You need to confirm it is a robins nest and eggs.  So wait around and be sure a robin returns to the nest.
