i found a robin in my parking space when i came home from the store.. i belve it fell out of the tree, its still got some of the baby fluff on it,but looks close to full grown. after closer inspection of why it wasnt moving i noticed its leg was broken.. not only broken but poping out of the skin by is hip, like the poor birds leg have been poped off.. its a open wound, and i knew the bird wouldnt last in the parking lot, so i grabbed a pet carrier(old one, never use) and a old baby burp cloth grabbed the bird put in the carrier. its locked up in a room my pets cant get it.i have food and water in there with it.. (bird food and a worm(thank god for going fishing and having left over worms).

is there any place i can bring this poor bird or will a wound like this heal on its own?

  1. Take it to a local animal shelter or humane society.  Some have 24 hr. intake of animals.  This bird needs help asap - it's in pain.

  2. call your local P D or game warden to see if you have rehabbers they will help you .thank you for caring.Keep it safe and quiet till you get help.I would circle some material as if making a nest so it can maybe set without hurting the leg.and cover the cage so it feels safe and rests

  3. Look online to see if you can find info on any local bird rescue places. Or contact a humane association and see if they can give you a reference.

Trying to fix it yourself will probably just cause it to die, birds are very touchy when it comes to health issues.

    Edit: WILD bird rescue.

Edit again: Well this only took long enough to find, eesh (you'd think lists like this would be easier to track down). Hope one near enough to you is on here. http://www.tc.umn.edu/~devo0028/contactA...
