Robinho says that he is a better dribbler than Zlatan Ibrahimovic
AC Milan striker Robinho has said he is a better dribbler than his teammate Zlatan Ibrahimovic and confirmed that Ronaldinho Gaucho is not about to leave the Italian team.
Robinho joined Milan after spending two seasons with Manchester City in the Premier League, where he failed to perform consistently and only scored 14 league goals.
Silvio Berlusconi, who owns Milan, scooped up the out-of-favour striker this summer after signing another skillful forward, Ibrahimovic, from Barcelona.
Robinho, who is competing with the Swede and fellow strikers Ronaldinho, Alexandre Pato and Filippo Inzaghi for a place in Milan's starting lineup, has said he is better than taking on defenders than Ibrahimovic.
"I am better than him one-on-one with an opponent. If he doesn't believe me I am ready to challenge him in training," Robinho told La Gazzetta dello Sport ahead of Saturday's league fixture against Chievo.
While Ibrahimovic has scored several mesmerizing goals for Inter Milan, Juventus and Ajax in recent years, Robinho has shown offensive flair for both City and his former club Real Madrid.
Among his goals for Real was a splendid counter attack against Real Betis in 2006, when the forward skipped past a defender with a trademark step-over fake and finished low into the far corner after being played in by David Beckham.
Robinho: Ronaldinho to remain at the San Siro
With Ronaldinho, another sublime entertainer, in Milan's team, there should be plenty of trickery to behold at the San Siro this season.
The team's abundance in attacking options has led to speculation that Ronaldinho will leave the team, but Robinho insisted that his fellow Brazilian will remain with Milan.
"'Dinho' will stay here with me, he will stay with us at Milan. I am ready to tie him up in the locker room if I have to. He is not only a champion but also a leader. And to me, he is a friend."
After Saturday's game against Chievo, Milan travel to face Spanish giants Real Madrid in the Champions League.
