Robinho arrives in Italy for AC Milan medical
Only a few teams have been involved in the transfer market and this is only because the transfer market is “expensive” at the moment. These teams include Real Madrid, Barcelona and Manchester City who have the financial strength to make it through. Real Madrid, after signing Kaka and Ronaldo last season, has signed many star players including Germany’s World Cup sensation Mesut Ozil among others. Real Madrid’s rivals Barcelona have been able to sign Spanish striker David Villa, who is a goal scoring machine.
Manchester City, on the other hand, has utilized their new owner’s pocket money for buying new players. Players like Yaya Toure, Milner, Silva and Boateng were signed this year which only means that players that were already in the squad had almost no chance of making it to the first team. Roberto Mancini is trying to utilize all the cash and he is trying to win it as his side is very strong on paper.
Brazilian striker Robinho was already out of place after he became part of Mark Hughes’ Manchester City after a record deal with the English Premier League club. Robinho did not really perform for the English club and has been usually out of play in the Brazilian club Santos, as Manchester City sent him out on loan.
With no place in Roberto Mancini’s first team and almost no place on the bench City’s bench either, Robinho started to look for his future somewhere else. Manchester City also needs to sell off some players to gain more cash inflow and they were definitely going to try and sell the Brazilian at least for 15 million Euros.
Robinho was part of the Brazilian squad in South Africa 2010 and qualifying as a first team Brazilian player is an achievement in itself. With this profile, Robinho was pushed into the transfer market by Manchester City. Turkish club Besiktas showed interest in the player. However, the player wanted to continue playing at Santos. There were no terms agreed with both these clubs, as Santos didn’t have enough funds while Besiktas was not the club that Robinho wanted to join.
Recently, AC Milan is another club which has become a prominent figure in the transfer market. They bought Barcelona’s “flop” figure Zlatan Ibrahimovic and gave him a clear option of playing in the first team. Zlatan was happy about the deal as Ronaldinho was one of his favourite players in the world.
According to sources in Italy, AC Milan is about to shock the world with their second largest summer signing as the transfer window is about to end in less than 24 hours. The Manchester City player arrived at Milan for his medical and a deal is in the making between the two clubs as he is going to add to the fabulous attacking force of Milan.
However, there are few problems that Milan is facing. British media reports that they don’t want to sign Robinho until their striker Marco Borriello is going to leave the club. Borriello is involved in a deal with Juventus while Roma are also pressing him to sign with him. However, with so many hours still left in the transfer window to close, the deal is most likely to take place today and not in January.
