Robinho joins AC Milan on the last day of the summer transfer window
Few teams have been involved in the transfer market this season and this is only because of the fact that the rates of the players are very high. These teams include the Spanish sides Real Madrid and Barcelona, along with the English club Manchester City. Last season, Real Madrid became very strong after signing Cristiano Ronaldo and Kaka from the English and Italian league respectively. This time, they have signed Mesut Ozil and a few other players along with the new manager Jose Mourinho to help them win a few trophies. Barcelona, meanwhile, have signed the Spanish sensation David Villa.
English Premier League side Manchester City has used (quite) a bit of its owner's money for buying new players, as they have added Yaya Toure, James Milner and a few others to their squad this season. With so many signings, it was simply impossible for the Brazilian striker Robinho to be in the first-team and he was usually used as a player who was sent on loan or as a bench-warmer.
He was out of place throughout his time in Manchester City when Mark Hughes was in charge, and when Roberto Mancini took his place, even he didn't really consider the Brazilian striker in the club's next season's plans. Therefore, the Brazilian player was sent to Santos on loan.
The player, who came to the English Premier League as a "record signing" from Real Madrid, was now of almost no worth compared to what he was back then. Right now, his price tag was only 15 million Euros, which is not even half the price that Manchester City paid for him a few years ago. However, as they wanted some cash inflow for a change, they decided to put him in the transfer Market.
The Brazilian sensation during the 2010 FIFA World Cup is now going to feature as an AC Milan player as all the offers flying in from Barcelona, Besiktas and even Juventus were rejected. He is now "officially" a Milan player after he gave a medical this morning, and the reports that were supposed to be "rumours" before are now coming true, as the Brazilian striker signed for Milan to shock the world.
Robinho is going to be Milan's second big signing this season as they are now another team that has spent a lot and only in a matter of days. With Ibrahimovic "suddenly" joining the Milan side, Robinho came in as a surprise as well and now he is going to feature for the Italian club alongside his Brazilian teammate Ronaldinho and the Brazilian youngsters Pato and Thiago Silva. With Robinho in Milan's squad, their team is now perfectly poised to win the league and they might do wonders with the Brazilian man.
The deal was struck in a matter of hours as the Milan president was able to bring Robinho's price tag down to 12 million pounds, and that is the fees that the Italian club paid to the English side, Manchester City; who just offloaded a useless - for them - but technical player.
