Robinho remembers bad times at Manchester City

After capturing a move to AC Milan, Brazilian forward Robinho has spoken about his two years stay at Manchester City. Surprisingly, Robinho said his stay at the club was saddening and those were the worst days of his career in England, the forward does not have any good memories of the place.
Robinho came to AC Milan on the transfer deadline day for a very small fee. That was not the case when he joined Manchester City two seasons ago. At that time, City paid a record fee to Real Madrid, while it still remains a record in English Premier League. Although, Robinho had some success early on, but he never really settled in the English Premier League. His problems started soon, and after that he had a series of unfortunate spells at his new club.
During his stay at City, Robinho played for a short while at Santos, back in Brazil. As soon as he came back from Santos, Robinho was put on the transfer list by Roberto Mancini. But, due to the two dark years at Manchester City, no club seemed to trust the Brazilian. However, it all ended well for the Brazilian who managed to get away on the last day of summer transfers. In the end, it was a dream move for the youngster, who wanted to join some big club, which he got in the name of AC Milan.
After reaching San Siro, Robinho decided to talk about his dark period of football at Manchester City. Robinho said that his managers Mark Hughes and Roberto Mancini failed to understand him as a player. He said that he was a special player at City, but he never felt special amidst the chaos in City. Robinho told the press that the players and managers relationship at City is only confined to training sessions and matches. After that, there is no contact of any sort made either by manager or other club officials. Due to these conditions, Robinho found it hard to adjust, because he needed to feel special all around.
Apart from that, Robinho also mentioned that he wanted to join Chelsea, and be reunited with his old Brazilian manager, Luiz Felipe Scolari, in London. However, Manchester City came to know about Robinho’s desires of moving away from Madrid, and snuck in to steal the deal for them. So, Robinho also regretted his decision of moving away from Madrid, because he was doing well in Spain. Manchester City, according to Robinho, is still far away from becoming a club like other big clubs including their neighbours, Manchester United.
Robinho also admitted that he would not have been able to make it to Brazil’s squad if he had stayed at Manchester City. He said that a brief spell at Santos helped him to regain his confidence, which in turn led to his selection in Brazil’s World Cup team. Robinho also admitted that he joined Manchester City because of the two Brazilians, Elano and Jo. But, like Robinho, these two players were also unable to settle in Manchester City. Robinho claimed that every South American player needs to feel special in his club, which was missing for the other two players as well. This eventually resulted in their move away from the club.
In the end, Robinho also talked about the conditions in England, which were hard for him to adjust. He is from Brazil, a country renowned for its liveliness and great weathers. Robinho felt further alienated because of hard winters of Manchester and dark nights. So, when Elano and Jo left Manchester City, it was really hard for the Brazilian to find himself good company.
There is no doubt that Robinho has got talent, but there was something troubling him at Manchester City. So, the player has come out and surprised everyone by discussing his problems, which have turned out to be manifolds. However, he has achieved his dream move and is ready to prove himself again. Only time will tell whether the problems were with City or with Robinho himself.
