Robinson Cano feels Kevin Youkilis will help New York Yankees with offensive prowess – MLB Update
When Kevin Youkilis filed for free agency this offseason, he did not realise his worth in the Major League Baseball. Now with so many offers from the leading MLB teams, he is realising that his game has grown further and the level of performance he showed
during the last Major League competition, is certainly carry some weigh.
Playing with the Chicago White Sox last season, he finished with .235 hitting average along with 19 homers, 60 RBIs and .336. Youkilis played with big energy and showed his true class. The White Sox’s management was also happy with Youkilis’ performance
and appreciated his overall performance.
Now since he is free agent in the Major League’s available players’ pool, many teams want him to join their roster. Along with White Sox, Boston Red Sox, the New York Yankees are also front runners to sign Youkilis for a long term deal.
Recently, Robinson Cano, the second baseman from the Yankees, has commented in the media about Youkilis’ and his potential need in his team.
Cano told the media with detail, “I’ve gotten a chance to talk to him and he’s a nice guy, I’ve had chance to meet him at the All-Star Game, he always seemed cool in talking with everybody. There’s some guys that, you know what, the way they play the game,
you say this guy’s not a nice person. But he’s a great person.”
He added, “It would be nice, But those kind of things, like I say, I don’t think (Chamberlain) ever hit him on purpose, and I would tell you that he would be the first guy who would be happy to see him on our team.”
Sources say that the Yankees have already made a lucrative offer to Youkilis of $12 million for a one-year contract but still this depends upon Youkilis and his agent as which team they want to sign with.
On the other hand, experts still believe that there is a high chance of Youkilis’ will sign with the White Sox. However, next few weeks are still critical when Youkilis potential future will be decided.
