Liverpool defender, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Jack-Robinson-c17461, blamed his team’s poor defending for their 3-2 defeat against Udinese at Anfield on Thursday.
The Merseyside club dominated the proceedings in the first half and went ahead through a http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Jonjo-Shelvey-c19081 goal in the 22nd minute.
However, a poor spell of play after the restart saw them concede 3 goals in the space of 27 minutes.
Although Luis Suarez reduced the visitors’ lead to a single goal through a peach of a goal in the 75th minute, it was not enough to spare their blushes, as they succumbed to their third defeat at home this season.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809, who are currently tottering in bottom half of the league table, have been slack in their defending so far this term. They have failed to keep a single clean sheet in their six league games, conceding 12 goals during this period. Only Southampton,
Norwich City and Queens Park http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Rangers-c40314 have conceded more goals than them.
If the team are to improve on their results, the 19-year feels that they will need to tighten their defence.
He said that their sloppy defending against Udinese on Thursday cost them the match, even though they were the better of the two teams on the day.
“I think we played really well but we just couldn't get that final goal in the end,” he told the reporters in an interview.
“I think we came out a bit sloppy from the second half but about 15 minutes in we got it going again but couldn't get the goals back. [Rodgers] just said he was disappointed with the result and we came out sloppy but just need to improve for the next game.”
Liverpool will look to get back to winning ways, when they play host to Stoke City on Sunday.
Robinson warned his side of their weekend opponents, and urged them not to repeat the mistakes that they made in the previous game.
He also expressed his faith in manager, Brendan Rodgers, and feels that the Ulsterman will be able to pull them out of their current slump.
“It's only early on in the season and we'll be fine in the end I'm sure,” he added.
