Robles Carlos and Trittel Florian win 29er Eurocup at Trentino Garda title: Sailing News
Spain’s 29er duo, Robles Carlos and Trittel Florian sailed successfully to the top mark in the 2011 29er Eurocup at Trentino Garda to take the title. The final day of the event was yet another good day with excellent weather conditions on Trentino Garda
waters. The pair was able to score 16 points after eight races and grab a lead of 16 points over Norway’s Snerlebakken Eline and Klippenberg Anders.
The forecast was favourable for the 29er fleet to set a complete sail in the four scheduled races. The type of conditions is typically seen at Trentino Garda, in the peak of summer. The current European Champions, Robles and Trittel, were determined to clinch
the victory as they started brilliantly on the final day.
The Spanish pair featured an impressive result on the ultimate day under light winds of 3 to 4 m/sec and grabbed third position in the first race followed by a second in the second. Two bullets in the last two races brought them on top of the standings with
an overall 16 points.
On the other hand, the Norwegians won two second finishes, along with a seventh and a fourth to hit the second spot with 32 points while another Spanish team comprising of Llena Marti and Mahiques Oriol occupied third place overall with a six-point difference
from Eline and Anders at 38.
