  1. Please see this page on my site - http://roborovskihamsters.webs.com/breed... for all the info you'll need about breeding Roborovski's (please contact me (see the 'Contact' page) if you have any other concerns/questions, I'll be happy to help)

  2. Firstly, I don't suggest having them mate right away again. This can cause the mommy hamster to not live as long as robos normally do. Wait at least a month. If she does become pregnant, she can deliver 18 days. Good luck! Your grandad would be very happy to receive a baby hamster(=

  3. Roborovski hamsters may reach sexual maturity as early as 5 weeks, but usually do not breed until they are older. Females should not mate till they are closer to 4 months old, though males can breed at 3 months. The gestation period of Roborovski hamsters is usually 20-22 days, but can be up to 30 according to some sources. Litters are usually small, being typically of 4-6 pups, though larger litters have been reported. Pups can be weaned at 21 days; this is also a good age at which to separate male pups from females.

  4. I'm sorry that happened.  It's very sad and I've had to deal with it a few times.  Sometimes they are born with birth defects or are born unhealthy the mom is older or has had a lot of litters.

Please give the mom a few months off to recover from just having a litter!  You should not breed a hamster that has just given birth.  It is harmful to your hamster and chances are the babies will not be born healthy.

Breeding is a serious responsibility and should not be done just because you want more babies.  Please think of the health of your hamster!

You should not have sawdust in the cage.  The tiny particles of wood can make your hamster sick if they breathe in too much.
