Mine is just turning 3 months but he's already about 5cm. Is it normal to reach this maximum length at an early age? He's a pure White faced.

He's not fat but his built is like a rat's.

  1. I wouldn't get too concerned by this. It is just growth and as long as your Robo isn't showing any signs of illness, he should be fine, regardless of his size.

Please see my site - http://roborovskihamsters.webs.com/ for all the info you'll need about how to care for your Roborovski hamster.

  2. mine is about 5 months and is like 6 inches

  3. I would not be concerned. Probably your hamster is just a very healthy hamster who has grown quickly. Since the average size of robos is 5 cms, it is a very normal size and nothing to worry about. As long as he is healthy and active otherwise, you have a great robo in your hands.

  4. He's most likely just overweight.

I have 7 hamsters - 3 males 4 females. One mother, one father, five kids.

The father is slightly overweight though and measures at nearly 6cm.

The kids are around 4 months old now, and they're around 5cm aswell.

Plus, I have one runt of the litter, whom is alot smaller than the others. She measures at nearly 4cm and is the same age as her siblings.

So yes, your hamster either got alot of milk at birth, or is just a bit overweight.
