I only have 1 robo, and I don't plan on breeding any hamsters, but I was just wondering what are some different things with different breeds of hamsters when you breed them? Just like, little facts about them. Like I heard robo hamsters are the easiest to breed, but there's a downside or something..

Thanks in advance for any help ;D.

  1. This link will give you all the required information about breeding syrians and dwarfs.

However it is wise of you not to think of breeding since it is best left to professional breeders to give a high success rate to the survival and health of the mother hamster and the litter.

  2. Robos are actually the hardest to breed in caotivity; I know people who have breeding pairs for 2 years that have never had a litter.

The other dwarf hamsters, Campbell's and Winter White, are probably easiest to breed, and they tend to have smaller litters. Syrians are relatively easy to breed as well, but they can have litters in excess of 20 pups!

If you're going to breed, make sure you do A LOT of research and be prepared to care for all those hamsters.

  3. See this page on my site - http://roborovskihamsters.webs.com/gener... for easy to understand, general information about breeding Roborovski hamsters.
