  1. I've never heard of 'robotic babies' (!).

Do you mean those dolls that supposedly act like a newborn bub by waking you up with their screaming at 2 a.m. and demanding you feed them, cuddle them, change their nappies etc?

Being one of nine kids, there's no need for a doll or a robot to do that in our

family - Dad gave up packing the crib away in about 1992, I think (lol).  However, I do know that, up here, the Women and Children's Health Nurses sometimes have the screaming dolls for people to borrow. That's all I know but maybe it'd be worth checking with your local Women and Children's Health Service.

(There's not much demand for anything such as them here because the concept of the 2.4 kids per family isn't big up here; people still prefer to breed their own workers rather than go to the trouble of employing anyone, lol.)

  2. "Baby, Think It Over" and other similar dolls are VERY expensive.  One of the ladies at our church teaches and she says that this program comes far too late, because several taking the course that includes these babies already have children at home.  One forgot the doll at the bus stop, though-and that was a loss of about $500.  Because of the cost, it is unlikely that you would find one that was a managable price for a normal family.  For it to work as it does, you would also need the software programs, etc. that work with the doll.

Homeschoolers can check with their associations-often, the associations will purchase these expensive materials for the lending library so that no one person has to bear the burden of the cost and all can benefit from it.  However, I think that this is one most homeschoolers would pass over because we would prefer our children babysit real children for the experience, etc. rather than using a doll.

Alternatively, your friend could use the old fashioned egg shell or sack of flour.

  3. The ones that are meant to scare teenagers into chastity? They're made by a company called Realityworks. Don't know if you can buy them direct but I'll bet they are expensive!
