  1. Rocks are generally created by sedimentation process.Under huge pressure all decays of trees and other plants along with other ores and chemicals got converted to rocks...

  2. Rock is really the aggregate, or clumping of minerals underground w/ pressure. The chemical makeup of the rock determines its shape/texture. The earth is always shifting

  3. There are three kinds of rock.  Sedimentary, Metamorphic and Igneous.

Igneous rocks are formed by fire - primarily volcanic eruptions.

Sedimentary rocks are formed by sediment forming in layers over layers over layers until the pressure of the upper layers compresses the lower layers into a solid rock.

Metamorphic rocks are Sedimentary and/or Igneous rocks that have been pressed and crushed and heated until their former structure is lost and mixed up in the process.

  4. There are 3 main processes that "build" rock.

    1. Igneous rock is formed from molten lava as it cools at the surface of earth or from magma (also molten material) which cools and solidifies at some subsurface depth.

    2. Metamorphic rock is formed when rocks are exposed to high temperature and/or pressue. The T and P changes cause new minerals to form in the rock.

    3. Sedimentary rocks form in two ways both as a results of deposition. Clastic rocks (e.g. sandstone) are the result of deposition of eroded material from other rocks, generally the deposition of clastics occur at relatively low energy environments which allow for deposition as opposed to erosion and transport. Carbonates and evapourites are deposited in-situ (are not gernally transported from other locations), where carbonates are built out of the shells of marine animals, while evapourites are deposited due to evapouration of mineral rich water.

  5. There are three kinds of rock: sedimentary, metamorphic, and igneous.  They are formed in the following ways...

Sedimentary rock forms over time as different sediments are deposited, usually in a river, lake, or sea.  They cement together and form rock.  Limestone is a common sedimentary rock.

Metamorphic rock is formed by stresses within the earth.  The intense pressures and heat exerted by geologic forces, like plate tectonics create metamorphic rock.

Igneous rock is essential cooled molten rock, found in association with areas of intense volcanic activity.

The rock cycle, much like the water cycle, is constantly in motion.  Rocks are recycled, formed, weathered away, and changed in form all the time.  That's the simplest way I know to answer your question.

  6. so there r three kinds of rock: sedimentary, metamorphic and igneous. sedimentary rocks r formed by the cementation and compaction of weathered and eroded rocks. metamorphic rocks r formed under immense heat and pressure, they undergo a chemical change. and igneous rocks r formed in and near volcanoes.

and they r created because its part of the processes that make up the earth; the water cycle, the soil making process, plate tectonics, convection currents. all that stuff
