Rock A Doodle Doo eyes on Betfred Ebor (Heritage Handicap) title
Gaining a lot of confidence from his grand victory in the Leonard Curtis Handicap, the William Jarvis trained bay gelding, Rock A Doodle Doo, is now looking forward to claim the ace title of the Betfred Ebor (Heritage Handicap) that will be held at York
racecourse on August 25.
On July 4, 2012, the five-year-old veteran horse stunned all the spectators and the punters at Kempton stadium by winning without the favourite tag. That was indeed the biggest upset of his 20-race career.
Rock A Doodle Doo ran audaciously against 11 worthy rivals. In the beginning, he was a little bit slow and no one could expect that the underdog candidate would outplay all of his worthy competitors.
The Doodle Doo Partnership owned gelding suddenly took lead and increased his pace significantly to maintain a distance of 1 ½ lengths from his chasers. Finally, he finished first emphatically.
The hot favourite candidate of that event, Old Hundred, finished 4th. The runner-up rank went to Roxy Flyer. Art Scholar notched up third top spot.
Prior to this race, Rock A Doodle Doo had won the D'Arenberg Handicap at Ascot racecourse on May 7, 2011. In that Class 3 event as well, he faced 11 competitors.
The Mrs A S O'Brien And Lars Pearson bred gelding performed very well despite being the not-favourite candidate, beating Blissful Moment to finish first by a narrow margin. Udabaa was the best-priced runner who finished third.
As a whole, Rock A Doodle Doo has five classic conquests to his name. He started his career in June 2009 and broke his maiden in January 2010. Following that triumph, he gained two more victories in a row. That was a fabulous hat-trick indeed.
Now, the enthusiastic gelding is preparing well to make a big impact in Saturday’s event that will be an acid test of his racing capabilities.
That high-profile race is scheduled to commence at 3:40 (GMT). He will be required to cover the distance of 1 mile and 6 furlongs.
Rock A Doodle Doo’s fans are eagerly waiting for that event to watch the star gelding dancing on his way towards victory.
