Rock On Ruby all set for his campaign debut in the StanJames.com International

The seven-year-old brilliant hurdler, Rock On Ruby, was a source of pride for trainer, Paul Nicholls, and now has been set under the direct supervision of the upcoming trainer, Harry Fry. Both, the new trainer and the under charge, have originated from the
same yard, Paul Nicholls’ stables.
The trainer trainee pair is kick starting the season with the StanJames.com International. It is a true opportunity to make the most out of and at the same time is quite threatening too due to the highly competitive line-up.
ROCK On Ruby will be up against the fifth position holder of the Champion Hurdle and the former stable mate, Zarkandar.
The opponent is no small deal as he is heading the betting arena of the Saturday spectacle right now.
The trainer who is positive about the performance of his under charge, commented:
"His schooling went very well when Noel [Fehily] came down last week and we know how much he likes it at Cheltenham as it's not just the Champion Hurdle - he also won the Listed bumper there and was only just touched off by Bobs Worth and then First Lieutenant
as a novice.”
"Besides having a great record at the course, he has a great record fresh, and he's fit and ready to go, having originally been aimed at the Fighting Fifth. He has no easy task, as technically we are rated only 2lb higher than Zarkandar and have to give
him 4lb, and Grandouet won the race last year, but we are excited."
The Harry Fry trained concluded the previous season with success in the Grade 1 Stan James Champion Hurdle Challenge Trophy on 13th March, 2012 at Cheltenham race course over two miles and half a furlong.
Riding with jockey, Noel Fehily, then Paul Nicholls’ trained defeated Overturn by 3 ¾ lengths.
Rock On Ruby ended third in the Grade 1 John Smith’s Aintree Hurdle on 14th April, 2012 at Aintree race course over two miles and four furlongs. The race was won by the Nicky Henderson trained, Oscar Whisky.
What the Irish bay gelding has coming in form of the race on Saturday will test his true potential and capability. The success will mean the world to the trainer who has just started off.
