Rock band (wii) lag?

Question

my family just bought rock band for our wii

however after playing it a few times we noticed the drums were off

we calibrated them and they worked just fine

the next time we tried to play we had the same problem but it was fine once the drums were calibrated

now every time we turn the game on the drums are off and its gotten to the point where calibrating doesnt fix the problem anymore

i dont know what we are doing wrong

NOTE:

-we have tried calibrating to every setting

-the drums are the only instrument experiencing this problem
