  1. There's a great rock climbing gym around there, but nothing really in the way of outdoor climbing..

    Here's the site for it..

I used to go there about every other weekend before I moved away..

They have walls for all levels of climbing, so, theirs some sloped ones for beginners and then one's with minimal holds for more advanced people. Their are often different 'trails' up the side that are color coded along with a difficulty rating. Initially, just try climbing grabbing any hold, but, as you get better, you try to just use the hand and foot holds for one color coded 'route.'

Make sure to bring a similarly sized friend along as you take turns climbing there with your partner holding the belay rope for you and vice versa..

Here's their FAQ page for more info..

I always really enjoyed climbing there..

  2. Well, there is this website address rockclimbing.meetup.com, go on there, people all over Florida meet and go climbing, and remember these are experienced so they will know where to go, also there is an indoor climbing center (407) 332 1430, 999 Charles Street, Longwood, indoor centres are ace, i'm from England, lots of climbing over here, just found that info on google, so check it out, you may find more, good luck, happy climbing x

  3. Not living in Florida, I can't say for sure, but I doubt you'll find any places to climb there since everything's pretty flat.  I'm way out in California, where we have tons of places, like Yosemite, where you could do some serious rock climbing.  You might check with some of the other states closer to your side of the country, such as Georgia, Kentucky, Tennessee which have rugged terrain.  Possibly Upstate New York as well.

  4. There's a gym called Aiguille in Longwood.

It's a pretty decent gym, run by actual climbers, they're fairly nice.

Unfortunately, you're not going to find any rock here, sorry!
