Max Payne’s return to the world of gaming is nearly upon us and Rockstar have given the PC gaming community time in order to get their PCs up to standard by releasing the specs needed to run the game.
Max Payne brought Hollywood-styled slow motion shooting to the gaming world in a way that it was never used before and became an instant hit in the process. Bullet-time became the latest craze back then and many developers still rely on the gameplay mechanic,
albeit, in different ways.
It has been a long time since the last Max Payne game, Max Payne 2, was released and in the mean time the only things the world have seen from the Punisher inspired vengeance seeking detective are a horrible movie adaptation and Max Payne Mobile for the
iOS.
However, Rockstar are set to bring the iconic character back to life and pointed out that they were taking the PC version of the game very seriously, stating that the game would run a number of advanced features.
"Developed in parallel with the game's console versions, Max Payne 3 for PC supports DirectX11 including tessellation, as well as a number of additional advanced graphics options and is optimized to run across a wide range of PC setups.”
In short, gamers will need a fairly decent PC if they want to enjoy the game at optimal settings.
As for the specifications themselves, readers can find those listed below.
Windows XP will be supported as will Windows Vista, yet not without the service packs.
“Operating System: Windows 7 32/64 Service Pack 1, Windows Vista 32/64 Service Pack 2, Windows XP 32/64 Service Pack 3
As for Processors Rockstar listed the following: “Intel Dual Core 2.4 GHZ - i7 3930K 6 Core x 3.06 GHZ / AMD Dual Core 2.6 GHZ - FX8150 8 Core x 3.6 GHZ”
As for RAM it turns out that the game can run on anything between 2GB to 16GB, although higher RAM settings mean better performance.
A number of Video Cards were listed; for NVIDIA both the 8600 GT 512MB VRAM and NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680 2GB VRAM are apt and the Radeon HD 3400 512MB VRAM and HD 7970 3GB VRAM were also listed.
The game would also require up to 35GB of space on the Hard Disk Drive, so gamers who plan on buying the game need to make sure their PCs can handle the high resolutions of the third instalment of one of gaming’s most iconic series.
