  1. jones' chin turned out to be not one of the best, but against one of the hardest punching and pressure fighting heavyweights in the history of the sweet science, the rock finishes this within 4 rounds..............take nothing away from jones, he's an all time great, just not at heavyweight.

  2. Marciano didn't know what it was like to lose, and I think this fight would be no different.

With all due respect to RJJ, who is one of the all time greats, he simply could not take the kind of punishment Marciano gave.

Jones is quicker, but Marciano has a much better chin.  Marciano wins by KO in the mid to late rounds.

  3. This fight would go to the rock for two simple reasons

    1) Marciano had an amazing chin, this guy took punches for the entire fights and still came back to win by knock out, Jones had incredible speed but his chin was suspect he used his speed to avoid getting hit,but he didn t have the chin to endure very hard hits, even if he manages to out point marciano throughout the fight all it would take is just one punch from marciano to end the fight and jones did not have the power to knock marciano out, he might have the speed to cause some problems but definetely not the power

    2) the difference in power between the two is too much, marciano could take a jones punch all day,but jones would not be able to withstand a marciano punch.

  4. if marciano hit him it would be lights of for jones

  5. Marciano is the most over rated fighter off all time?????????

Please, only people who know anything about the fight game should should answer in boxing. When Marciano fought Walcot, truly a great fighter, so good, Marciano was a huge under dog, that said, Roy Jones is a great fighter, however, Marciano was just the greatest puncher of all time and if you have ever been in the ring you know that you can can throw all the nicely timed 3 and 4 punch combinations you want, with all of your punches landing, but If the guy across from you just keeps comming and throwing 1 or 2 devasting punches, there is only so much you can take.

  6. Rocky Marciano is an all time great regardless of where anyone wants to rank him.  He had relentless determination and never was bothered even when he was behind on points in a fight and always kept his composure in the ring.  He was perhaps one of the most physically and mentally tough fighters ever to enter a ring.  He trained probably harder than any fighter ever and when he came into a fight was always prepared.  He had a true fighting heart of a champion and that can never be weighed on stats alone.  And last but not least, he had awesome power in either hand and incredible endurance and stamina to go with it so he could knock you out in the first round or the last.  Jones Jr. to me will always be more of a middleweight or super middleweight as far as his natural size goes even though he did beat a plodding and pitiful Ruiz who does not compare to the Rock.  Jones Jr has very fast hands and is quick and elusive so he probably would avoid Marciano's bombs for a few rounds and stay on his bicycle as much as possible from the relentless pressure of Marciano.  For about 6 rounds Jones Jr. would box effectively against Marciano but would not be able to hurt him at all.  Marciano would get into a exchange of punches with Jones Jr. in round 7 and land his famous Suzy Q right hand which would send Jones Jr down for the 10 count.  Good question.

  7. Roy Jones Jnr

  8. roy jones far too fast for marciano.  he'd knock him out in the 2nd half of the fight

  9. Marciano packed the better punch;I`d put my money on him.

  10. Rocky Marciano all day back in them days fights could go 16 maybe 20 round depending on witch state the fight was in and in them days the fighters pride was to much they would try to fight to the death back then boxing was barbaric some fighters did die after fights, Marciano by knockout

  11. Marciano was one of the most overrated boxers in history.   He fought absolutely no one in their prime.   Furthermore rather than show this determination to never lose at the age of 32 after a few tough fights he retired.   Now if Jones Jr would have retired at 32 he would have went down as one of the greatest fighters of all time.  However he challenged himself & won the heavyweight title & he lost to Tarver due to the weight game he was playing with his body.   He was 100 times better than Tarver & Johnson but he was around 205 when he fought Ruiz & he had to drop down to 175 for the Tarver fight.  Now for the average fighter that wouldn't be a problem but he had to drop about 30lbs of muscle to get there.

Roy Jones Jr would outbox Rocky & tie him up when he tried to get inside & do body work.   The funny thing about this matchup is Roy would be the bigger fighter.   Rocky was around 180lbs & Roy would have been about 205 & much, much faster.   He would tear up Rocky's face cause he was easy to cut & win a unanimous decision if they didn't stop it on cuts.   Roy Jones Jr easy decision!!!!
