The statue should have been built with Joe Fraziers likeness instead of a fictitious fighter. And Frazier did live in Philly.

it already is. montreal is in an uproar because they thought their little desecration could work. canada is furious knowing that philly was able to prevail. expect congress to begin nuking the country at any moment.

Am I mistaken or was the "desecration" putting the jersey on the statue? I mean personally I dont think its that big a deal, it can be taken off. I could see if they graffiti'd it or something

he is no icon he is just a fictional boxer, philadelphia wanted to honor a great fighter they should have honored a real philadelphian who actually rose from poverty to become heavyweight champion of the world,that man is not rocky balboa,that man is joe frazier....moreover it was just a jersey philadelphians need to get over it.
