Rocky Two favourite for British Stallion Studs Supporting British Racing E B F Maiden Stakes
Rocky Two has got a very good chance of winning the first race of his career by doing well in the British Stallion Studs Supporting British Racing E B F Maiden Stakes at Newcastle in England on Wednesday, October 3, 2012. All of the participants are young
and inexperienced, thus the competition will be an interesting one.
Speed will be crucial in the 7 furlong race, but it will be important for the runners not to push too hard, as the going will be soft because of the overnight rain. There is a chance of an injury under such circumstances, as the wet track puts more stress
on the legs compared to a normal one.
A total of 12 runners have been named in the initial list of entries, but that number may come down because of the conditions. Some of them have appeared in a few races, but that will not be much of an advantage for them at the end of the day.
Out of all the participants, Rocky Two has got a better chance of winning the race, as he will like the conditions more than others. He is a bit more experienced as well, which will encourage the punters to risk more bets on him.
The two-year-old colt has participated in three races until now, winning none of them. He started off his career in June this year and was given a decent starting price in his first ever outing. The track was affected by rain back then as well, but he did
not have any problems at all.
The Michael Dods’ trainee finished as a runner up in that race and impressed one and all with his skills. Looking at his strong run, the bookies rated him as the favourite to succeed next time around.
However, the young runner was unable to meet the expectations of everyone during his second race and finished third overall. Although, his team would have been pleased with the outcome, yet they would have hoped for a victory.
In his most recent outing, Rocky Two was once again given the best odds for victory on a soft track. He did not have the speed to finish on the top during that event and had to settle for fifth place in the end. He will be looking to make an improvement
today under jockey, Paul Mulrennan.
